Stopping with this website

by | Nov 21, 2021 | Uncategorized | 22 comments

Hello my dear readers, again almost 2 months between posts. I mentioned in my last post I have been thinking about continuing this website or not. It will probably not come as a surprise that I decided to stop. The posts will be visible for another couple of weeks, but after that this site will be gone.

It does not mean though that I will completely disappear from the internet. I will keep posting on Instagram (sigridsewing is my name there) but the Instagram vibe is different and not everyone wants to use it.

When I feel like blogging again in the future, I will probably pick up at my old blogger account. Don’t keep your breath, it might take a while (or not at all).

Thank you for reading my blog, a lot of you for a long time already!

As a blog post without pictures is no fun, a few pictures from recent makes. I have been sewing!

Burda top from the August 2021 issue. Made it in a plain version too. A great pattern.

Thank you for much pleasure and inspiration. I can understand that good blog posts, photographs and tutorials take time and energy and that we cannot take them for granted. I am sorry that we have never met in person, though you very kindly answered a technical question for me by email. All my good wishes for the future to you and your family.

Thank you Anne for your understanding and well wishes. I wish there were more opportunities to see sewing friends. Distance is often a problem unfortunately.

Another great sewing blog bites the dust. Sigh. Really appreciated all the posts you have done over the years. I follow you on instagram but it is not the same. Take care and all the best for you.

I agree completely Carol, Instagram is not the same. Lots of blogs that I liked to read have disappeared as well. But there are interesting posts to be found on Instagram too! Thank you for you well wishes.

I have appreciated your posts for many years and have learned a lot from you. I will always remember–and be inspired by–your commitment to making beautiful sewn garments that express your sense of self in every way. I’m not on instagram but who knows, if I take that up I will certainly find you there! Thank you and best wishes, Elizabeth C. in Massachusetts, USA

Thank you Elizabeth. Like I said Instagram has a different vibe . I stay away from most of what can be found there (no interest in celebrities, influencers etc) . There is a large sewing community and quite a few people used to have blogs or post interesting sewing projects, not only the final picture! In general though it’s not as in depth as a blog post can be.
