A wardrobe plan always has my fascination, but I know myself well enough I won’t stick to a plan of about 12 garments. A capsule wardrobe is more do-able I hope. I have done one a long time ago and thought it would be nice to try to do it again.
In the header of this post you see three fabrics that I plan to make 4 garments from. The print will be a blouse, pattern yet undecided.
The linen will be the 3 garments in this collage. I had 2 meters of the sand colour and 2.5 meter of the navy blue. It was a puzzle and only scraps are left of the sand colour but I managed to get 3 garments out of it.
All patterns are from old Burda magazines. The trousers from May 2006 and the skirt and jacket from Burda 2002. Such gems are to be found in these older issues. Below two photos from the 2002 issue.
l think I bought this issue for this collection of patterns, even though at the time I wasn’t sewing for myself much. Only last year I made the dress, which was a favorite right away.
Time went fast and it was autumn before I knew it, with no urge to sew a linen jacket any more. The issue was still around and I decided to give it a go now and plan a capsule around it. Currently I’m working on the skirt. For the jacket I’m taking my chances and just make it. I’m a bit unsure about the sleeve and whether it will suit me. On the other hand: if you don’t try you won’t know!
So happy with the flowers in my garden. The helleborus especially, such a beautiful flower!
